Montreal, Quebec, Canada – International Team Captain Mike Weir has announced Ernie Els, Trevor Immelman, Geoff Ogilvy, and Camilo Villegas as his captain’s assistants for the 2024 Presidents Cup. The prestigious event will be held at The Royal Montreal Golf Club in Montreal, Canada, from September 24-29.

“I am excited to welcome Ernie, Trevor, Geoff, and Camilo as my captain’s assistants for the 2024 Presidents Cup,” said Weir. “They each have a rich history with this event, and we have been working closely together to ensure the International Team continues its momentum from 2019 and 2022. The team’s culture and close-knit nature are foundational to our plans for Montreal, and I’m thrilled to work alongside them to deliver an exceptional week of golf for our players.”

Els, a 19-time PGA TOUR winner, has represented the International Team in eight Presidents Cups, holding the record for most matches won by an International player with 20. He previously served as a captain’s assistant in 2017 before leading the team as captain in 2019.

“It’s an honor to participate as Mike’s captain’s assistant as he leads the International Team into Montreal in 2024,” said Els. “This team has built a lot of momentum, and I’m eager to get to work and ensure our players are prepared to compete in Canada.”

Immelman, the 2022 Presidents Cup International Team captain, has been added to Weir’s leadership team. The 2006 Masters champion played a pivotal role in the continued development of the International Team following Els’ creation of the shield.

“Being a part of this team means a great deal to me, and I could not be more excited to support Mike as he leads a team of guys into Montreal that are fully committed to playing for our shield and representing the International Team,” said Immelman.

Ogilvy, a three-time International Team member, returns as a captain’s assistant for the fourth time, while Villegas, a five-time PGA TOUR winner, will make his second appearance in the role after debuting in 2022.

The 2024 Presidents Cup promises to be an exciting event, with the International Team building on its recent successes and the enthusiastic Canadian sports fans set to create an electric atmosphere at The Royal Montreal Golf Club.
