Golfers Deliver Thrilling Performances at Travelers Championship

American golfer Cameron Young carded a stunning 59, the first sub-60 score on the PGA Tour in nearly four years. Meanwhile, South Korea’s Tom Kim maintained a narrow lead heading into the final round.

Young’s impressive round included two eagles and seven birdies at the TPC River Highlands course, putting him within five shots of Kim’s 18-under-par overall lead. Despite not feeling particularly confident in his pre-round preparation, Young found his rhythm on the course and capitalized on his opportunities.

“Didn’t feel particularly awesome,” Young said. “I chunked a few less on the range than I did yesterday. Then, yeah, came out and just was very comfortable and things just started coming down close to the hole.”

Kim, who celebrated his 22nd birthday just a day earlier, maintained his lead with a second consecutive round of 65, leaving him one shot ahead of world number one Scottie Scheffler and Akshay Bhatia.

“It’s a stacked leaderboard,” Kim acknowledged. “Out here, a five, six-shot lead is not safe at all. So I’ve got to go out tomorrow and do the same game plan and execute.”

Xander Schauffele and Sungjae Im also made impressive moves, shooting 64 and 63, respectively, to position themselves just two shots behind the leader. Ireland’s Shane Lowry sits four strokes off the pace after a third-round 65.

The tournament was once again impacted by weather delays, with play being halted for nearly three hours due to a “dangerous weather situation,” as reported by the PGA Tour.
