Scottie Scheffler Maintains Commanding Lead at RBC Heritage Despite Rain Delay
April 16, 2023 – Hilton Head, South Carolina
World No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler continued his impressive run of form, maintaining a commanding five-stroke lead with just three holes remaining at the RBC Heritage tournament in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
The play was halted for two and a half hours on Sunday due to inclement weather, but Scheffler managed to navigate the challenging conditions with an eagle and two birdies across 15 holes.
While fellow American Wyndham Clark made a strong push with eight birdies and an eagle in his 18 holes, two bogeys and a double bogey prevented him from further cutting into Scheffler’s substantial lead. Clark is currently tied for second place alongside Patrick Cantlay, J.T. Poston, and Sahith Theegala, who all have a few holes left to play.
Scheffler, the reigning U.S. Open champion and world’s top-ranked player, is seeking his fourth victory in just five starts, further cementing his status as one of the dominant forces in professional golf.
The tournament is scheduled to resume on Monday, with Scheffler in a commanding position to claim another title and continue his impressive run of success.
