April 10, 2023 – Although Ludvig Aberg fell short of a winning major championship debut, his runner-up finish at the Masters was the best result by a Swedish golfer at the prestigious tournament. The 24-year-old’s impressive performance reaffirmed his belief that a victory on golf’s biggest stage is within reach.
Starting the final round three shots behind world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Aberg engaged in a thrilling duel as he tried to reel in the American. Despite closing with a 69 to finish at 7-under par, four strokes behind Scheffler, Aberg’s breakthrough week at Augusta National provided him with invaluable experience and heightened his hunger for more major opportunities.
“This being my first major championship, you never really know what it’s going to be like until you’re there and experience it,” said Aberg. “I think this week has given me a lot of experiences and a lot of lessons learned in terms of those things. It makes me really hungry, and it makes me want to do it again and again.”

“It’s been that way ever since I picked up a golf club, and that hasn’t changed,” Aberg said. “So I think this week solidifies a lot of those things are there, and we just need to keep doing those things and put ourselves in positions to win tournaments.”
