The 2022 Women’s Open champion, Lilia Vu, finds herself one shot behind two-time winner Jiyai Shin heading into the final round of the 2023 WGC Match Play. Vu’s resilience and grit were on full display as she fought back from a three-shot deficit to Nelly Korda to position herself for a potential second consecutive major title.
After a shaky start that saw her drop a shot on the 9th hole, the American turned things around with birdies on three of the last five holes, showcasing her steely determination. Despite encountering some tricky bunker shots, Vu remained focused and composed, thanks to the encouragement of her caddie, Cole Pensanti.
