Danny Willett’s Stunning Return
The story of the day, however, belonged to Danny Willett. The 2016 Masters champion, who has been sidelined since September 2023 due to shoulder surgery, made a stunning return, carding a 4-under 68 in his first competitive round in over six months.
“I’m just really happy to be back out here, competing again,” said Willett. “It’s been a long road to recovery, but I’m grateful for the opportunity to play at Augusta once more.”

Play was suspended due to darkness, with 27 players still on the course. They will have to complete their rounds on Friday morning, including Tiger Woods, who is tied for fourth at 4-under with five holes remaining.
