However, his Open Championship record has been somewhat mixed, with just one top-10 finish to date, achieved at St Andrews in 2022.
Tyrrell Hatton
Tyrrell Hatton, who finished alongside McIlroy in a tie for fifth at Troon in 2016, has been in fine form, having won his first LIV Golf event in Nashville just a few weeks ago. The Englishman will be aiming to build on his top-10 finish at the Masters and his impressive record at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.
Scottie Scheffler
Scottie Scheffler, the two-time Masters champion, will make his fourth appearance at The Open, having finished eighth on his debut in 2021 and just outside the top 20 in each of the last two years. The American’s recent form has been nothing short of dominant, with six tournament wins in 2024, including his victory at the Travelers Championship just last week.
