2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am: Star-Studded Field and Course Challenges
The 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am gathers top golfers for a high-stakes tournament at Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill. With a $20 million purse and challenging course conditions, including small greens and inclement weather, the event promises fierce competition. Defending champ Justin Rose contends against golf elites like Nick Taylor and Jordan Spieth.
The upcoming 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am is set to showcase a remarkable field that truly befits this picturesque venue. After a period of waning interest from top players, the tournament has regained its stature, now offering a $20 million purse with a limited field and no cut. An impressive 17 of the world’s top 20 players will be vying for the prestigious title this week.
The format of the event has also undergone some changes. The 80-player field will alternate between Pebble Beach Golf Links and Spyglass Hill Golf Course on Thursday and Friday, playing alongside amateurs and celebrities. The weekend will then feature the professionals exclusively competing at Pebble Beach Golf Links on Saturday and Sunday.
With the small, poa annua greens and challenging bunkering at Pebble Beach, the course rewards players who excel in their approach shots and have exceptional short game skills. The weather conditions could further test the competitors, as the forecast calls for rain from Wednesday through Friday, followed by potentially strong winds on Sunday.
“Defending champion Justin Rose will face stiff competition from a field that includes other recent winners such as Nick Taylor (2020), Jordan Spieth (2017), and Viktor Hovland (2018 U.S. Amateur at Pebble Beach).”
The course’s unique challenges and the depth of talent in attendance make this tournament a true signature event on the golf calendar.
